Body Art Bloodborne Pathogens Training Requirements and Course Approvals
Bloodborne pathogens certificate courses offered by Your Training Place and Body Art Training Group are approved or accepted by numerous agencies, organizations, state and local governments. Courses are offered in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. For the latest information on BBP training requirements, contact the agency that regulates body art in your area.
Please Note: Even if your state or local health department does not require you to take a body art bloodborne pathogens class, you still should take such training to learn how to protect yourself and your clients from infectious diseases.

New York
Statewide health regulations for tattooing and body piercing are currently being developed by the New York State Department of Health. Until the new regulations are in place, local regulations, if any, apply. For more information on regulations in your area, contact your county or city health department. New York City body artists must successfully complete a three hour Infection Control Course and an Infection Control Examination conducted by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's Health Academy.
North Carolina
